In observance of Memorial Day we will be closed on Friday, May 28 and reopen June 2, 2021.

      Our 6 county service area is Allegan, Cass, Calhoun, Kalamazoo (including Hickory Corners), St. Joseph and Van Buren counties.  Lending Hands will no longer provide equipment to those living outside our 6 county service area.

       Our Mission:

      The mission of Lending Hands is to lend various kinds of home medical and other related equipment, for free and on a temporary basis, to anyone living in our service area without regard to age, race, sex, creed, income or disability.

Who We Are:

     Lending Hands is an all- volunteer Michigan nonprofit social service organization located in Portage, Michigan, lending home medical equipment, for free for up to 7 months, to residents of the Southwest Michigan counties of Allegan, Calhoun, Cass, Kalamazoo (including Hickory Corners), St. Joseph and Van Buren counties and beyond. Lending Hands of Michigan is a 501-c-3 tax-exempt organization.

 

 

 

Equipment loaned out:

Following is a listing of home medical equipment loaned out by Lending Hands. Our equipment inventory includes, bath benches, bath tub rails, bed rails, canes, commodes, crutches, dressing sticks, hi-rise toilet seats, hospital overbed tables, leg lifts, reachers, shoe horns, shower stools, sock-aides, transport chairs, walkers, wheelchairs and knee scooters (3 month loan ONLY for Knee Scooters)

NOTE: Some items have limited quantities. We hold equipment for 5 days before it is returned to  inventory. We do not have hospital beds, exercise bikes, lift chairs, or electric wheelchairs.
